When playing a DVD the screen is all blocky with colored blocks. Almost like it is using the wrong decoder. Can this be fixed?
Also-is there any way to provide the .vpd to the DVD player so we can learn from how this was programmed?

1. It happened on 3 out of 3 commercial DVDs. Yes. I had burned a TV movie in DVD format to a DVD and this played.
2. I have WinDVD 5 and also Elecard. Both play the DVD's fine.
3. I can install and test NVDVD.
Sorry I didn't read the download page a little closer. Right there all the time. Thanks for the link.

OK-after installing NVDVD the DVD play properly. I think for whatever reason it was grabbing the Elecard decoder. I'm pretty sure when NVDVD installs it places itself as the highest prioroty.

Yes, the DVD player does not control which CODEC is used. That is determined by the setup on your machine.
Glad that it worked out with the new CODEC. Enjoy! |
