I got a new laptop and intalled Synopsis so I could transfer one of my licenses. I've had issues before with Synopsis not functioning with certain .NET framworks upon install and have written a few posts about it as well as others. I had the .NET framework v. 3.0. Synopsis hated it and told me I didn't have .NET framework v 1.1. I uninstalled .NET v 3.0 and installed .NET v 1.1 with service pack, then installed v 2.0 and all is well.
Synopsis is looking for a version number of .NET before it will run, whether compatible .NET framework software is available or not.
Anybody else notice this with XP or God forbid, Vista? |

mforkner,
This is an older backwards compatibility verification test made by the installation for Synopsis 1.1. You should not need to uninstall any higher version of .NET Framework. You can simply install 1.1 before installing Synopsis. You can also bypass this installation check by creating a registry key at:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v1.1.4322
After installing Synopsis, you should delete this key.
Hope that this helps. |
