After installing 1.1 demo, when I attempt to run the program, I receive the error message: "MDAC 2.8 RTM is incompatible with this version of Windows. All of its features are currently part of windows."

I am running Windows XP SP2 Home. Any suggestions? Couldn't find anything on microsoft.com dealing with this problem.

Thanks

Thanks for your inquiry.

Yes, if you have Windows SP2 installed you don't need to install the MDAC option with Synopsis. That option is available for machines without SP2. Synopsis is already set to support SP2, so you can uncheck the option and continue installation.

Hope that this helps.

now the program won't start. Sad When I try to start it, the hard drive starts up like its going to load, then nothing but a couple of flashes here and there. I'm pretty sure this problem is on my end, but this is the only program I am having trouble with. Would anyone happen to know of a setting or something that I may have turned on that is interfering with the program startup? I'm still pretty new to XP, and still don't know all the new system settings, or where to find all of them. (I sure miss good old DOS! Not as slick or pretty, but sure a lot easier to find a problem such as this!) Very Happy
By the way, thanks for the quick response to my original post. It is much appreciated! I'm hoping to get this up and running soon so I can check it out. It seems like an easy and fascinating new way to code! I was pretty pumped about C++ builder when it came out some years ago, and this sounds like an even easier more user freindly way to code.

Thanks

Sorry for your troubles. We will try to help.

You say that "now the program won't start". Do you mean the installation program or Synopsis?

Can you try uninstalling Synopsis and then re-installing it, with the MDAC option in the post-install setting unchecked?

Also, install Microsoft DirectX 9.0c if it is not already on your machine. Please check the Synopsis dependencies page for details:

Hope that this helps.
